@wlhardy yes i too grew up on am and loved this woman's voice...she was an angel or a goddess with the voice of an angel....she sleeps with the angels and certainly must be at peace....i think if teenagers thought they were uncool it was because of their tv show,,,not these great works of art where she reveals a soul that few could ever express as she does...and now if anything,,,,they are hip again and retro

What a hauntingly beautiful and powerful voice... so sad that it was silenced way way too early :-( As a teen guy it wasn't considered ok to like the Carpenters cuz of well you can guess, but as a teen guy I knew great music when I heard it and what they did was FANTANSTIC... too bad todays kids can't hear the simplicity, the strength and all around talent these two really had. ALL true music lovers miss their music from then, for now and forever. To listen now, is to still have you here !

Tears began to shed instantly for me very early this morning when I looked at the big wall calendar & realized it was indeed February 4th once again. Another year (now 29th) has gone by without Karen on earth. But God is really a wonderful God for given us this very precious gift to inspire our lives, entertain us, make us happy perhaps when we're feeling a bit sad. This one life really made a profound difference,So today let's celebrate Karen's Life,& say a prayer. God Bless Karen Carpenter.

SURE BRINGS BACK GREAT MEMORIES ! Some happy, some sad, but I really believe music in general was talent based much more so than today. I believe Karen had more pure talent than even she realized.
