@ravepupu They both sing it in a completely different way. So, it's pretty hard to compare both versions. I like both versions. I like the Pavarotti style for its power and hint of brutality. Yet this version is much more calmer, sincere. I think that's what most of the people mean by 'passion'. Never the less, 2 icons who will go unmatched for a very, very long time.

@ravepupu I don't know shit about singing, but my novice ears did hear that difference. You can even see how much more emotion Pavarotti puts in his performance, especially jis 1998 performance in Paris.

I just finished listening to Pavarotti's version. I can't quite understand how is that almost an entire "world" of people thinks Bocelli sings with more passion and sympathy. He does have a great voice. Most singers at this professional level better have a decent voice. But as far as emotions are concerned, let it be a personal opinion of mine, Bocelli is not that impressing at all.
