Existential nihlism is the philosophical theory that life has no intrinsic meaning or value. With respect to the universe, existential nihilism posits that a single human or even the entire human species is insignificant, without purpose and unlikely to change in the totality of existence Now try and motivate yourself lol.

Subjective evaluation before reward leads people to choose the safest bet. Duh.

Am I missing something? The higher the potential reward would increase anxiety during performance, causing decrease in performance, particularly in cognitive based tasks. In acute terms, this seems obvious. How does that relate to the day-in-day out (chronic) practices of a job. As if someone might worry "Oh no, I might make too much money this year!". Also If 98% of children scored at genius level, perhaps standard were low? Overall, very thought provoking in spite of some holes in the argument

Seems like a very dualistic and reductionist way to look at it. The real world is gray.
